#TurboTuesday is usually dominated by wicked ultra fast speed demon machines. This evening it’s the turn of the rare and frugal Rover 218 SLD Turbo! This one needed a wash but it looked remarkably straight. Nice to see a survivor being used.
Loved this Alfasud Ti that was at the Waterloo Classics meet on Saturday. Very rare in Ti guise and super cool! This one was clearly used and enjoyed. The way it should be!👌😎👌

The S3 Spider also stopped off at Auto Britalia this afternoon to say thanks for the distributor to coil lead and spare Bosch coil module. Without it the #Alfa wouldn’t have made it out today. It’s always good to chat with Ian at the garage. He knows his stuff especially old Alfa’s! Picked up a few tips from him which will come in handy.
While at Fourways Classic Cars today I got the chance to peak at a holy grail car. A real #Datsun240Z 432!! This is one of the rarest Z cars. Only 420 were made. And its the only one in Europe! Its got the hakosuka GT-R engine. Basically a Super Z. Super cool & worth a fortune!
The #Alfa S3 Spider had its first drive of 2018 today. It stopped off at Fourways Classic Cars to have an appraisal for some bodywork. Nothing major, just a bit of tidying up. For an old Alfa it is actually pretty solid.
And the Alfa was in good company during the visit! In for some work was a very nice Aston Martin #DB7 Vantage and a real #Lotus 11! There are a lot of replica examples out there so it was pretty special to see a genuine Lotus 11 in the flesh. They are worth a pretty penny too!👌😎👌
Made it out for #Driveitday this afternoon with this tidy Triumph Spitfire. Little v large! The Viceroy kept up with the little convertible. Though not so much in the corners. Spotted lots of classics out too which was cool. Great Sunday weather for a classic car run!👌☀️👌
It was an absolute scorcher in London today for the Waterloo Classics monthly meet. There was an ace selection of classics on display. The sun brought them all out. And there were lots of favorites to chose from!
Plus the #VauxhallViceroy was making its first appearance at the London meet. It managed the heavy traffic in the capital with ease! The auto box and power steering make it an easy car to drive in the city. Despite its size. The only thing it was missing today was air con. It was a bit warm!
So this afternoon the Jag XJ8 and Italian specialists Auto Britalia came to the Alfa Spiders rescue. They had a spare distributor/coil wire and plug from an old S3. Fitted it and the Spider tasted it’s first sunshine of 2018. Phew! Now to crack on with all the other jobs!
So you pop down the local garage to get a tyre mended and find a Pro Street Camaro with a 454 V8 in the showroom. Oh and a massive blower aswell! Kinda hard to miss that bit!
Don’t you just hate it when the mechanic keeps a secret like that😆
Gotta film this beast soon!🎥👌

That Friday Feeling when you collect your new daily driver! Said goodbye to a BMW E91 Touring & hello to a 1998 Jaguar X308 XJ8 Sovereign. 1 owner, 83k miles & Jag main dealer history. It feels good to be back behind the wheel of a Sovereign again.
The video of the Vauxhall Viceroys visit to the Vauxhall Heritage Centre is now live on the YouTube Channel!
This is a special episode where I take my Viceroy back home to Luton, to where it was first registered in 1982 by Vauxhall Motors. It was a great trip and a really nice addition to the cars story.
Today was a big day for the Vauxhall Viceroy. It paid a visit to the Vauxhall Heritage Centre in Luton. A 200+ mile, 5hr round trip and it didn't miss a beat.
What makes my Viceroy rare is the fact that it was first registered to Vauxhall Motor Company at its Luton offices in 1982. So the trip to the Heritage Centre and the factory site was the Viceroy returning home to where its journey all began.
And it turns out that the heritage centre team (Andy and Terry) probably worked on Viceroy when it arrived at the factory back in 1982. Which is very very cool!
I will have a video on the visit coming out on Thursday evening at 8pm so stay tuned 🎥
We have scored an exclusive interview with hot rod hunter and builder Richard Ray Rawlings! 😎He chats to us about the brand new 10th season of Fast N' Loud.
We asked him what the Gas Monkey Garage crew has cooked up for us car fans. Plus we also asked him who would win in a big Gas Monkey / Misfit Garage build off using a Reliant Robin 3 wheeler. And whether he's still afraid of Sue 😉
Check out the interview to see what he had to say.
Top Gear had the new Alpine Renault on the telly this evening.
Take to the Road featured an original Alpine A110 last year. And the one we filmed raced in the 1968 Tour de France 🇫🇷

We love an old school American V8. So when we got the chance to film two Studebaker GT Hawks, we couldn’t say no! And one had an Avanti Supercharger! Music to the ears👌

To celebrate hitting 3000 subs on YouTube I took the Viceroy out for a good long run this afternoon. It’s first outing since the London Classic Car Show. The weather finally feeling a bit more like spring today⛅️

Take to the Road has broken through 3,000 subscribers on the YouTube Channel today! Hurrah! And to celebrate here is my customary Happy Sprite pic!
Thanks to everyone who's subscribed! 👍I'm working really hard to bring you all some very cool classic car films. Big things are coming!👌🏎👌
A couple of weeks ago Take to the Road got to spend a day with a very special Ford Capri at Silverstone. This is a 1978 Ford Capri Faberge, one of the original team cars for the 78 season. It's an absolute beast!
#fordcaprifaberge #fordcapri #silverstone
Sadly there’s no Goodwood #76MM for Take to the Road this year. But I did get to see the Faberge Ford Capri during testing earlier in the week. Which was pretry cool!
Best of luck to drivers Ludovic Lindsay & Jochen Mass! I’m sure the Capri will wow the crowds👍
The 76MM will also be a wonderful tribute to the late Henry Hope Frost🏎

The Jaguar E-Type Roadster always gets a lot of attention. But for me the 2+2 Coupe is a better looking car. And practical. To a degree. Though I doubt very much there’s any room for two kids in the back of this one!

This 1965 MG Midget Lenham Le Mans is our #MarketPickMonday for this week. This gorgeous little GT is based on a Midget with a special Lenham fibreglass GT body. They were built in Kent in the 1960s and allowed small privateer teams to build and race a very streamlined and affordable race car. This one isn’t cheap. But it sure looks fun! And look at its happy face!😀
